Joseph A. Crapotta, MD is a board certified, fellowship trained Vitreoretinal Surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of retinal diseases and intraocular inflammatory diseases.

Dr. Crapotta graduated from Columbia University, School of Engineering. He is a member of Tau Beta Pi, the national engineering honor society, which is the equivalent of Phi Beta Kappa for engineers.

Dr. Crapotta attended medical school at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York and then completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York.

He completed his Ophthalmology Residency at the Catholic Medical Center of Brooklyn and Queens and served as Chief Resident.

After residency, Dr. Crapotta completed his Fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery at the prestigious University of California, San Diego Shiley Eye Center where he co-authored several journal articles and book chapters including the landmark paper on retinal detachment repair in patients with AIDS-related CMV Retinitis.

Dr. Crapotta offers all treatments for Retinal diseases including complex surgical and all in-office procedures.
