Dr. Nancy Cheng, M.D. is a comprehensive ophthalmologist with a particular interest in cataract and pterygium surgery. She sees each patient as an individual and formulates a treatment plan with great consideration of their individual visual needs and lifestyle. Dr. Cheng is a native New Yorker and enjoys seeing a “melting pot” of patients in the office.

Being fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and Spanish has been instrumental in her care of patients across multiple ethnicities. She is fond of seeing children and the elderly alike and they equally appreciate her warm personality and calm chair-side manner. Over the years, Dr. Cheng has cultivated a practice where entire families place her in their care.

After graduating summa cum laude with a bachelor of science from Binghamton University, Dr. Cheng earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. She completed her internship at Long Island Hewish Hospital and her residency with St Vincents Catholic Medical Centers where she served as chief resident.

She is currently affiliated with New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, Flushing Hospital, Jamaica Hospital and also holds operating privileges at Mackool Eye Institute and Sheepshead Bay Surgery Center. Dr. Cheng is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
